the georgia dress.

the mini me will be making her first trip to athens this fall...

so of course, her mama decided to make a "georgia dress." a little red & black frock for her to wear while cheering on those georgia bulldogs.

recently...

17 [WOW-SEVENTEEN] months ago today, my sweet baby emerson reese came into this world. 17 months ago today, she was a 6 pound 8 ounce little peanut that I desperately wished had come with an instruction manual!

and now...17 months later, the mini me is all. over. the. place. it was like she just woke up one morning and decided she was over her scoot/crawl method of transportation.  these days, i think the only time those little feet of her's aren't moving is when she's asleep!  constant entertainment/exercise to say the least.

her feet aren't the only thing moving these days...so is that little mouth! she wakes up talking, goes to bed talking, and even [like her mama] jabbers in her sleep. she's like a little parrot...[note to self, don't say anything that doesn't need to be repeated.] and with football season only 2 weeks away, you better believe i've already taught the mini me to say "go dawgs"! f.y.i. the dress she's wearing/modeling in the pictures is one that i had just finished making for someone. orange and blue are definitely not our colors. :)

day trip to destin.

I seriously thought Emme was about to skip walking all together and go straight to a "Florence Griffith Joyner- style" sprint!

So, right after the first picture was taken the mini me and I, armed and dangerous with the stroller that likes to steer itself, rushed to the nearest kids store. swimsuit. check.

straps that are two sizes too big. check.

the mini me striking a pose before she scooted her fanny right smack in the middle with all the "big kids."

mommy had to go in after her...and got to try and dodge screaming seven year olds in the process.

she's fearless.

that smile is priceless.

and...........we survived!

school picture

Take a look at the mini me's FIRST school picture!  I can hardley wrap my brain around the fact that I'm staring at her first school picture ever!  Oh my gosh,  before I know it I'll be looking at a picture of her in a cap and gown!

Hey Mr. Clock! Could you pretty please slow those big ole' hands of yours down just a tad bit? It's really making me sad at how quickly my sweet baby E is growing up and becoming such a big girl. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Emme's Mama

wrist candy

This little lovely by John Wind - Maximal Art is what my mom and the mini me gave me for Mother's Day.  I fancy the fact that the initial looks like both a "C" and an "E".  How perfectly fitting.

To find your own John Wind treasure, go pay Tmarie a little visit...

Motherhood

March 19th 2010, 12:45 pm, the moment Emme took her very first breath, the term “mother” took on a completely new meaning. This past Sunday was Mother’s Day, in fact, it was my second Mother’s Day since that monumental page of life was turned and I was blessed with the greatest gift I could ever receive, my Emerson Reese.  I’ll be honest, the journey of motherhood was definitely not one I ever thought I would embark on this early in life, but I must say I am truly thankful for the Lord’s little “surprises.”

My transition into motherhood wasn’t exactly what I would describe as being graceful.  I had a pretty bad taste of post partum depression and was completely unaware of it until Emme was 6 months old.  I knew from the moment I saw the word “pregnant” spelled out clear as day (on that clearblue easy)  that I was in for an adventure and I had better hang on…tightly.  About a month or so prior, I had made the move from my beloved college town of Athens Georgia (that’s right, Go Dawgs!!) to Germany and added a ring to my left hand.  Little did I know I would soon be back on a 9 hour flight to Atlanta to see my…OB?!  Again, completely unaware…. I was about to embrace a journey into motherhood as a twenty two year old “little girl” who had no choice but to step up to the plate and prove to myself that it is more than possible to do it on my own. More on that topic later, promise!
“the moment a child is born, the mother is also born.  she never existed before.  the woman existed, but the mother never.  a mother is something absolutely new.”
I have an unfathomably deep love for my daughter that words cannot even begin to express.  She holds every piece of my heart in her tiny little palm.  She is my world. Always and forever.

guess who launched a children's line?

milly!

the mini me and i have reached a consensus.  this "mommy and me e" outfit would be a perfect addition to our wardrobe.

although, too bad my bank account begs to differ! until then, i'm off to do some more "pretend" online shopping.  happy thursday!
